The deadliest animal on earth: The Mosquito.
Let me give you a few facts about them:
Mosquitoes fly really slow. They’re like those killers in action movies, when they walk really slowly to the place where they: bum bum bum bum. (Bum? Remember fact #15?)
Their slow speed and very tiny mass is also the reason why they can fly in the rain. They just don’t get hit as hard by the drops.1
The official name of the mosquito is Anopheles, which means: good for nothing. Nailed it.
Sometimes they are useful however: In a forensic case in Finland, a mosquito was found at a crime scene and the blood inside it convicted the delinquent. (Inspiration for the crime novel you always wanted to write?)
Only the females need protein and therefore blood to produce eggs. Male mosquitoes feed on nectar. They’re vegan.
Talking about herbivore men: Next week.
Have a nice weekend!
