Mountbatten Pink (#153)
Colors sometimes have funny names, like “Milk and Water” or “Puke”. Mountbatten pink is a color named after a British officer, Louis Mountbatten.
Before to the Second World War started, he noticed that ships disappeared in the horizon at dusk and dawn when they had a pinkish hue and so he introduced his very own pink color to the Royal Navy.
Several ships have been painted in Mountbatten pink, but if the effect really helped has never been proven. (And was said to be a disadvantage at noon, when the sky really isn’t pink at all.) Oh, related to ivisible military things, remember the very first fact #1?
And speaking of pink, there’s another funny one: Drunk-Tank pink. It’s said to have a calming and anti-violence effect. Why the name? Because it’s used often in prison cells.
